Q1: What is balanced armature?

Balanced armature  produces sound through the following steps: the armature, in the delicately structured armature driver, librates in a magnetic field, which drives the connecting pole to vibrate, and then drives the vibration film to vibrate, and finally sounds come out. It has these advantages:

1, The size of moving-iron earphone is small and light.

2, The balanced armature has good transient response.

3, Its frequency response is more stable.  

4, its outstanding encapsulation is good for protecting hearing. Comparing to the ordinary moving-coil earphone, balanced armature is rich and delicate in sound details.

Q3: More balanced armature units are better, right?
That is not true. Take the four “Wind” series CME earphone for example, the receiver units are not superimposed on the quantity, our aim is to provide the best music experience by different combination of moving-iron units.

Q4: Why balanced armature unit should be handled with care?
The parts which produce the sounding are the balanced armature unit, which could be permanent damaged if impact or fall acuter because of its structure limit. Hence it is a good habit to put the CME earphone into shockproof package when you are not using it.

Q5: Why do I feel background noise when listening through CME earphone?

CME earphone is a passive device, the noise is not brought in by the earphone, but caused by the front-end player devices such as amplifiers. CME has high sensitivity; it is very rich in terms of sound details and is different with general moving-coil earphone.

Q6: Does the shell of this custom made earphone impact on human body? Will the hearing be affected after long time wearing?

Q7: Do I need burn in the newly purchased earphone?

Because the sounding principles of moving-iron earphone is different with moving-coil earphone, moving-coil earphone’s diaphragm need run for a while after newly purchased and the volume can not be turned on too much, but for moving-iron earphone, there is little change after burn in, so it is no need to burn in. However the new earphone could not be turned on too loud in order to avoid occurrence of unit damage.

Q8: How to protect the unit to extend the life of my earphone?

1.    Do not let any foreign objects enter the unit orifice where the sound originates and clean the ear wax timely. Once the dirt gets into the unit cavity, the diaphragm can not vibrate freely which causes sound distortion. 

2.    Make sure the earphone not be damaged by mechanical shock, and be careful when handling the earphone. Since shocks and falls will make the reed deform and the thimble drop, then cause sound distortion or no sound.

3.    Do not use the earphone in the environments with dust, moisture or corrosive gas. Dust or water / moisture will affect the vibration of diaphragm; also prolonged moisture will corrode the internal parts.
